O’Keefe to visit Casino Beef Week

Sydney Sixers, NSW and Australian Test Cricketer Steve O’Keefe will be making a special trip to Casino Beef Week this Saturday to promote a cause for a close friend.

O’Keefe, who became the 439th Australian to pull on a Baggy Green cap in 2014, will visit Casino on Saturday the 28th, and bring with him a number of items from Cricket Australia for auction.

His trip brings with it a dual purpose. Not only will he be helping promote Cricket in the area, but he’ll also be there to support a woman whose full-time job is helping to find the next best cricketers in the region; Cricket NSW Development Manager Mel Quinn.

Quinn is a cancer survivor, and currently battling a new form of the disease. Her determination, coupled with her passion for her work in the Casino area has endeared her to all of the staff and players from Cricket NSW.

Once Quinn extended the invitation to O’Keefe to attend the World Famous Casino Beef Week, the idea was born to include the auction, with all funds raised to be donated to victims of Cancer.

The auction will be held in the main arena at Beef Week alongside the cattle auctions from around 1pm on Saturday. O’Keefe will also be on hand to meet and greet fans, and hand out some Sixers promotional materials along the way.
