The Sydney Sixers have named a 13-player squad ahead of Friday’s meeting with the Melbourne Stars at Junction Oval.
New Zealand star and World Cup champion, Amelia Kerr has been named in the Sixers extended squad after joining the group in Australia earlier this week.
Australian captain Alyssa Healy comes out of the squad for tomorrow’s match in Melbourne due to load management but is set to return ahead of Sunday’s blockbuster match at the SCG.
The Sixers will be looking to finish their week on the road with back-to-back wins, after defeating the Hurricanes in Hobart last night.
Skipper Ellyse Perry led from the front, notching 86 (from 62) with the bat, with the team defending a total of 155 to put their second win of the season on the board.
Caoimhe Bray (2-13), Sophie Ecclestone (2-22) and Lauren Cheatle (2-32) were the pick of the bowlers, with Courtney Sippel (1-21) holding her nerve in the penultimate over, leaking just two runs and picking up a vital wicket to secure the match.
First ball of Friday morning’s match at Junction Oval is scheduled for 11am (AEDT) and will be broadcast live on Foxtel, Kayo and ABC Sport.
