Captain Ellyse Perry has re-signed with the Club, along with fellow Southern Stars Alyssa Healy and Ashleigh Gardner.
The Club has also confirmed a Major Partnership with Nature’s Gift, who have been producing natural pet food for over 20 years.
This is Nature’s Gift’s first foray into sport sponsorship, but the alignment with the WBBL and its family focused market was the perfect fit.
“We’re thrilled at the partnership between Nature’s Gift and the Sydney Sixers. Dogs are such a beloved part of Aussie family life, and so is Cricket, so we’re excited to be partnering with the Sixers and their four-legged friends. We’re looking forward to seeing the team in action this year and support them all the way in defending the title” said David Grant, CEO Nature’s Gift.
Sydney Sixers General Manager Dominic Remond said the signing of the pet food brand reinforced the strength of the WBBL and the Sixers Club.
“We are very excited to have Nature’s Gift join the Sixers club,” said Remond.
“They are very family focused, just like the Sixers, and this creates the perfect platform for a partnership.
“We are looking forward to their fan engagement activities at our matches and our players are already asking for samples for their dogs. It completes a great sponsorship portfolio for the WBBL team within the Club and we are anticipating a great response by our fans.”
Sixers wicketkeeper Alyssa Healy also welcomed the new partnership.
“I’m a dog lover myself and it’s great to have Nature’s Gift on board,” she said.
“I have two dogs at home who are pretty much the bosses of our household, and we appreciate the need to keep them fit and healthy. We’re looking forward to working with Nature’s Gift, I’m sure they’ll be well received, especially at home.”
On the resigning of the three key players within the Sixers squad, Remond said the three signatures were key to setting the strong platform for the team moving forward.
“Ellyse, Alyssa and Ashleigh were key members of our squad in the first two years and we are excited to have them back on board as we look to defend our title,” he said.
“Ellyse especially has been key in the growth of this squad, working closely with myself and coaching staff on building great systems within our Club. Alyssa has also been very hands within the Club, and they enable us to keep consistency within our squad, which is key to building the culture we want at the Sixers.”
Perry said that the coming summer provided some exciting challenges for the team.
“I feel incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to play with the Sixers, and it's been a thrill to be a part of some of the success we’ve achieved, it's also really exciting to know there is still lots of room left for the squad to develop." she said.
“We have worked really hard to build a strong culture at the Club where players and staff really enjoy the whole experience of the WBBL, so I’m looking forward to another great summer.
“It's going to be a really great challenge for us to try and re-win the title this year, but it's also a really exciting chance to push this group to a new level and hopefully play a more exciting and inspiring brand of attacking cricket.”
The WBBL starts on 9 December at North Sydney Oval with the Sixers taking on the Melbourne Stars under lights in prime time on Channel Ten.
