Sydney Sixers trio Steve Smith, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc will line up for Australia in the upcoming One Day International series against New Zealand.
Steve Smith, who will represent the Sixers as an Official Ambassador during BBL|06, will once again captain the ODI side.
The Australian team will be looking to bounce back against New Zealand in the 50-over format following their recent ODI series in South Africa, where Starc and Hazlewood were rested after the tour of Sri Lanka.
Their inclusion will be a huge boost for the Australian side, with Mitchell Starc having taken 110 ODI wickets in just 56 games at an average of 19.61. Hazlewood’s stats are also impressive, with 39 wickets at an average of 25.33.
The series will be a rematch of the 2015 World Cup Final where Mitchell Starc devastated the New Zealand top order and helped Australia secure a historic fifth title.
The series also gives the Magenta stars an opportunity to play on their beloved Sydney Cricket Ground when the first ODI game gets underway on December 4.
This SCG will then play host to the Sydney Sixers when they come up against the Hobart Hurricanes in their first home game of the season on December 23 (click here to buy tickets).
The Sixers officially begin their BBL|06 campaign in Sydney Smash 10 against the Thunder on December 20 at Spotless Stadium.
