Squad named for must-win clash with Stars

The Sydney Sixers have named a 16-player squad for their must-win clash with the Melbourne Stars tomorrow night at the MCG.

The Sixers head to Melbourne desperate to secure a win following a string of rain-affected matches including back-to-back abandoned fixtures against the Thunder and Heat before a narrow loss in a shortened match in Coffs Harbour on Wednesday.

Currently sitting third on the KFC BBL|13 ladder with three matches remaining in the regular season, the Sixers will require a win to remain in touch with the top two as the competition heads into the run home.

The blockbuster clash is set to see some of the league's biggest names going head-to-head with the Sixers bowling unit taking on the Stars big hitters at one of cricket’s most iconic venues.

If selected, the match will mark the 100th appearance of Sean Abbott for the club as he looks to become the first player in the league to collect 150 wickets, currently with 149 scalps to his name.

Additionally, if selected club stalwart Stephen O'Keefe will mark his 100th appearance in the Big Bash, having bought up triple figures for the club last summer; now with 99 league appearances and six outings for the club in the Champions League Twenty20.

First ball of Saturday night’s clash is scheduled for 7.15pm (AEDT) and will broadcast live via Fox Cricket, Kayo and SEN.
