Sixers name squad for Thunder clash

The Sydney Sixers have named a 13-player squad ahead of their rematch with rivals, Sydney Thunder at Drummoyne Oval on Sunday afternoon.

The grudge match with the Thunder will be a must-see for fans and a must-win for the Sixers, with the ladder tighter than ever heading into the business end of the season.

The Sixers currently sit on three wins and four losses, with matches against the Thunder, Perth Scorchers and Brisbane Heat still to play.

Alyssa Healy has sustained a left knee injury which will rule her out for the remainder of WBBL. She will continue with her rehabilitation over the coming fortnight under the care of CNSW and CA medical staff.

Frankie Nicklin has been named as a local replacement for Healy and is required to be named in the twelve for tomorrow’s match, as per league rules.

Sophie Ecclestone additionally comes out of the squad as she returns to the English national side ahead of their series against South Africa, beginning next week.

First ball of Sunday afternoon’s match is scheduled for 5.25pm (AEDT) and will be broadcast live on Channel 7, 7Plus, Foxtel, Kayo, and ABC Sport.
