Daniel Hughes is one of the Sixers’ all-time leading run-scorers.
Not only did Hughes become a BBL champion in 2019/20, he capped off a very successful year by winning his second Steve Waugh Medal in three seasons.
The left-handed opener was the leading run-scorer during the NSW Blues’ 47th Sheffield Shield title with 665 runs at an average of 44.33.
For the Sixers, he has scored 1,279 runs, in 51 matches, at a strike rate well above a-run-a-ball.
Hughes captained the Sixers for first time in BBL|09 when Moises Henriques became a Dad for the first time.
Hughes rejoined the Sixers prior to BBL|06. He made his BBL debut in magenta during BBL|02, before spending two seasons with the Sydney Thunder.
Hughes hails from Cowra in Central Western NSW.
